Dieter Knierim is the Creative Producer and Videographer of Knierim Productions. He has worked with peak bodies such as First Peoples Disability Network, People with Disability Australia and Women With Disabilities Australia to produce projects which reveal the complexity of the issues facing people with disability both internationally and nationally. Dieter has a Bachelor of Communications in Media Arts & Production at University of Technology Sydney. Dieter has completed an internship at SBS for the entire course of Eurovision song competition where he accompanied and assisted editors for the same. He also completed another internship at ABC where he was an assistant editor for the well-known Tv series ‘You Can’t Ask That’. He has been involved with projects such as Unfinished Business, stories from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with disability; Outing Disability, and Silent Tears, stories from women with disability who have been subjected to violence and women who acquire disability as a result of violence. These projects have been and are being displayed both nationally and internationally in conjunction with events held in conjunction the United Nations in both New York and Geneva. In 2013, Dieter became the winner of the Connections Anti-Poverty Award, and his work is included in the Australian National Maritime Museum, Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Straits Islander Studies. In 2017-2018, Dieter was the recipient of Screen Australia’s Screenability grant to produce a documentary called ‘Intimate Encounters – twenty years on‘ about the participants of Intimate Encounters, a photographic exhibition by Belinda Mason which was screened at the Sydney Film Festival 2018.
Jyotsna Arora joined Knierim Productions two years ago, working primarily as a Practical Assistant to Producer, Dieter Knierim. During this time, her role revolved around production assisting on several projects as well as translating and transcribing interviews for documentaries undertaken by the team. Jyotsna completed her Bachelors in Business and Administration, from Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology, which allowed her to develop into her current role within the company. Jyotsna is now the Administrative Coordinator for Knierim Productions, acting as the backbone of the company. She is in charge for accounts, sales, quotes, customer relations, marketing and media, a key touchpoint between producers and clients. Her focus is on innovation through strategic collaboration.
